Welcome to The Manor House at Port Isaac.

During this Covid pandemic period, in order to ensure your safety and that of our housekeeper and cleaning team we have made changes

to both how we operate and to our terms and conditions. 

Please be reassured that we have drawn up these plans to protect you and our staff from the risk of infection wherever possible. 

 

1. Changes to out standard terms and conditions due to COVID 19:

 

CANCELLATION POLICY

It is our aim to do everything we can to make it possible for you to stay with us. Luckily due to the set up and layout of the house, we are able to offer some flexibility to larger groups and can potentially easily accommodate 2 groups of 6 for example. This is of course subject to the prevailing government restrictions at the time.

 

GOVERNMENT MANDATED RESTRICTIONS AS SET OUT BELOW:

 

In the event of a government lockdown in operation, restricted travel rules preventing access to The Manor House or a restricted group size ruling which prevents the intended stay to go ahead we will offer guests:

 

i)          a rescheduled stay with us at a mutually agreed future time of similar tariff subject to availability.

 

ii)         The possibility of offering The Manor House as 2 separate zones, each with it’s own dedicated  entrance, stairs ,bedrooms and bathrooms as well as

             lounges. One zone to retain use of the kitchen. Each zone to have dedicated BBQ, outdoor dining furniture and use of the considerable outside spaces.

 

iii)        In the event of any of the above not being suitable, we are happy to offer a full refund. 

 

 

CANCELLATION DUE TO ILLNESS  INCLUDING COVID 19

In the event of one or more of the group being unable to stay with us due to a requirement to self-isolate, or due to having contracted Coronavirus we will only be able to offer a refund in the event of a successful re-booking of the property. The refund will be of equal amount to the money we receive from the re-booking. We strongly advise guests to take out travel cancellation insurance to cover themselves for such an eventuality.

DEPOSIT

A deposit of 30% of the rental tariff is required to reserve your dates with us together with a completed booking form.

We will reserve your dates upon receipt of payment and we will contact you with confirmation of your reservation once payment has cleared. 

The balance of the rental charge is due no later than two months prior to your intended stay. 

Failure to pay the balance before this time may result in the cancellation of your booking with us.

If your stay is due to start within two months of your booking the complete payment is required to reserve your stay with us.

We strongly advise guests to take out travel cancellation insurance.

The person making the booking will be responsible for the costs of any damage caused by the group. The damage deposit is refunded in full on the condition that guests cause no material damage to The Manor House or its contents and comply fully with the conditions below.

 

We ask that any cancellation made by you for any reason must be in writing to us at the address at the bottom of the booking form or by email. On receipt of the notice of cancellation we will seek to re-let the Property for the period of the booking.

2. Changes to how we operate:

 

GUEST CONTACT DETAILS

We are required to take contact details for all guests prior to arrival to be test and trace compliant.

CHANGES TO CHECK IN AND CHECKOUT 

In order to have sufficient time to prepare The Manor House, we now operate a later check in of 5pm and an earlier check out time of 9am. Please ensure that all guests are packed and ready to leave by this time as any delay will impact the safety of incoming guests.

As always guests are welcome to leave luggage by prior arrangement to allow you to enjoy the first day of your stay out and about in Cornwall.

 

STAFF

We are a small dedicated team which does not generally change and minimises the risk of exposure to the virus. All of the team are checked for a temperature before each cleaning, check in/out  session. The cleaning team  are issued with new gloves, a mask and apron for each shift. 

CLEANING

We offer hand sanitiser in the entrance lobby and in the kitchen next to the sink. We have not however installed wall mounted sanitiser dispensers as washing your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds is still the gold standard advice.  Please ensure everyone in your party (especially children) washes their hands very regularly throughout your stay.

 

We will provide additional cleaning products for guests where it is possible.

The Manor House will have been cleaned and disinfected for your arrival, using hospital grade virucidal solution where appropriate.

 

Before the cleaning team leave, all high touch areas of the house are wiped down, ensuring your peace of mind and safety.

You are welcome of course to wipe down all high touch areas again when you first arrive should you wish.

 

We have left out the outdoor play equipment in the outside games store and wiped handles where applicable although we recommend that guests

wash their hands before and after using any of the equipment.

 

BEDS TO BE STRIPPED BY GUESTS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE

We also need to ask you to strip your own beds before departure as this is the task with the highest risk of infection for our staff.

Our housekeeper, Dianne will also be on hand to explain and answer any questions that you may have on arrival. Please also refer to the more detailed ‘Checkout routine’ below.

 

REMOVAL OF SOME ITEMS IN THE HOUSE

Due to the risk of cross contamination we have had to remove some kitchen food items such as condiments. We have also removed the majority of  toys, games and DVDs - please do bring your own. Please do not touch the books as we cannot disinfect them. 

The guest info booklet has also been removed and replaced with a summary handout for each guest group.

Do remember that many attractions and restaurants may vary from their standard opening hours, so it it worth checking out with them before a visit. 

 

KITCHEN

We strive to make everything  as clean as possible. If you are uncomfortable about using anything else in the kitchen (glass wear, crockery, kitchen pans etc)

we recommend you run it all through the dishwasher before your first use. Additional dishwasher tablets have been left for your use.

NEW DEPARTURE ROUTINE

Stripping the beds presents the highest risk of infection to others.

Therefore, on your last day we ask each family group to  please strip all the beds - with the exception of mattress protectors which we clean in house - and

Put all the used bedding into one bag 

 

Put all towels and bath mats (which may be damp) into the other laundry bag provided underneath this letter.        

 

Please also wedge all doors and windows  open to air the rooms as much as possible. It is important to leave on time (9am), as we need to protect our staff from any unnecessary contact.

 

IF SOMEONE DOES DEVELOP SIGNS OF COVID WHILE STAYING 

In the event that any member of your party show symptoms, contract or are notified that they have been in contact with someone who has suspected or actual symptoms of coronavirus, you must pack up, strip the beds ,bag up rubbish and return home as a matter of urgency. You must notify the housekeeper by call or text immediately - 07841 192969 -. Please do NOT stay in our house until the end of your booking but instead self-isolate in your own houses. Please see the notice in the entrance lobby for more detailed information.
